The Second European Orthopedic
- The Exam Preparation Course (EPC): tailored to preparation for EBOT exam (our main goal) is aimed to trainees in the final years of residency. Review modules provided learning with emphasis on case discussions and MCQ group responses. Discussion and interaction are a cornerstone of this course. Basic knowledge is assumed to be acquired at this stage, thus discussion is focused on advanced topics.
- Comprehensive Review Course (CRC): provides an opportunity to make a general review of topics and is aimed at trainees in the first years of residency. Teaching is through expert lectures, covering all the basics.
One of the key features is the high level of scientific organization. Contents and faculty were developed with the partnership of all main European subspecialty societies, coordinated by the joint effort of FORTE (and EFORT):
- Basic Sciences: EORS
- Children: EPOS
- Tumours: EMSOS
- Spine: EUROSPINE
- Shoulder and elbow: SECEC
- Wrist and Hand: FESSH
- Hip: EHS
- Knee: ESSKA
- Foot and Ankle: EFAS
Both courses run independently and in parallel, from Monday to Friday. After the sessions, participants have time for study as well as facultative social activities (free bus provided). Dinners have educational, social and networking purposes in an informal environment. Accommodation is offered in the Hotel EVA (4*). Limit of 120 participants.
FORTE Summer School is a major advancement in the Education of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in Europe. Not only it enables trainees in any year of residency to undertake an annual update or to review for final exams, it also enables networking between trainees and renowned experts from all over Europe, in a close and casual environment. A close network, with face-to-face contact, allows better cooperation between the involved countries and develops a shared sense of duty in raising Orthopaedic standards of practice in Europe.
We are looking forward to see you at the FORTE Summer School 2017!
